Is it time to upgrade your fuse board?

Your consumer unit (fuse board) is the heart of your home’s electrics. Older boards with rewireable fuses or a single RCD offer far less protection than a modern unit, where each circuit has its own RCBO — so a fault on one circuit no longer plunges the whole house into darkness.

We supply and fit modern consumer units, test the full installation, and issue your certification. If any remedial work is needed to bring things up to standard first, we’ll explain it clearly and price it upfront.

Fuse Board Upgrades — your questions

How much is a new fuse board in Worcester?+

Most domestic consumer unit changes are a fixed one-day price. We’ll confirm the exact cost after checking your existing board and circuits.

Why does my fuse board keep tripping?+

It could be a faulty appliance, a circuit fault or an ageing board. We’ll find the root cause rather than just resetting it — see our fault finding service.

Will my power be off for long?+

Typically only for parts of the day. We plan the work to restore power as quickly as possible and always by the end of the day.

Do modern boards have to have RCBOs?+

Current standards require adequate RCD/RCBO protection. Individual RCBOs are the best option because a single fault won’t take out unrelated circuits.
